Cherie-May joined our Residential Property team in June 2018, before being promoted to Executive in October 2021.
She is experienced in dealing with sales, purchases, remortgages and transfer of equity transactions from providing quotations to post-completion matters.
Cherie has worked in conveyancing since 2003 and qualified as a Licenced Conveyancer in 2008.
Away from the office, she enjoys paddle boarding, baking and socialising with her friends and family.
Erin joined Palmers Solicitors in 2020 as an Associate Solicitor in the Litigation Department before becoming Head of Personal Litigation in 2022. She is based at our Basildon (Commercial Hub) office.
She has expertise in litigation relating to a wide range of matters, including property disputes, adverse possession, contractual disputes, professional negligence, contentious probate and debt recovery.
Her particular area of specialism is Contentious Probate. Erin is also a member of ACTAPS (the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists) having completed the association’s Education Course in 2014.
Erin is experienced in working with both private and commercial clients, including employer/employees, executors, beneficiaries, and business owners.
Prior to joining Palmers Solicitors, Erin was Head of Litigation at another Essex-based law firm, having previously spent four years at a Hertfordshire-based law firm and two years as a paralegal in the litigation department of a large international law firm in London. She qualified as a Solicitor in April 2010.
Away from the office, Erin enjoys spending time cooking and socialising with her friends and family, as well as travelling.
Richard joined our Accounts department team in November 2019, based at our Basildon Office.
He is responsible for all areas of legal finance, cash management, forecasting, budgeting, business finance management, analytical financial reporting, tax and VAT.
Ricky is also a Mental Health First Aider (MHFA), supporting wellbeing within the team.
Richard is an Associate of the Association of Law Cost Draftsmen, an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Credit Managers and is Association Accounting Technicians (AAT) Qualified.
Prior to joining Palmers Solicitors, Richard spent a number of years at two international law firms based in the City of London.
Away from the office, Richard has been Chairman, Treasurer and coach for an Essex-based youth football club for more than 15 years.
He also enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, as well as playing football weekly, boxing, golf and snowboarding.
Leanne has worked at Palmers Solicitors since June 2005 and is the Credit Control Manager for the firm. She is also a qualified paralegal in debt recovery.
Leanne has worked in the litigation department dealing with debt, litigation, dispute resolution, contentious disputes, bankruptcy and corporate insolvency as a Legal Assistant.
Before joining the company, Leanne worked for another local firm of solicitors as an Accounts Assistant.
Away from the office, Leanne enjoys reading, listening to music and spending time with her family.
Donna Smy joined Palmers Solicitors in May 2019 as a partner in the Wills and Probate department, based at our offices in Basildon before becoming a department director in 2021.
She has particular expertise in matters including Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs), Enduring Powers of Attorney, General Powers of Attorney, Administration of Estates, Court of Protection applications, Declarations of Trust and the creation, termination and management of trusts.
Donna works with a range of clients, including private individuals, business clients considering succession within their Wills, farming clients considering the best way to deal with agricultural assets within their Wills and attorneys, deputies, trustees and executors.
Donna trained and qualified with Palmers Solicitors in September 2008. She then joined another Essex-based law firm in 2012, before becoming Head of Wills and Probate and a salaried Partner there.
Along with other members of the Wills and Probate department, Donna is a Dementia Friend.
Donna is also a member of the Association of Lifetime Lawyers.
Away from the office, Donna loves to bake, especially with her young twins.
