Commercial Property Lawyer

This is an excellent opportunity for a versatile and confident commercial property lawyer who is looking for a long-term career within an expanding and busy commercial property department.

You will have at least 3 years’ PQE within this field of law combined with the knowledge and ability to take on a varied commercial property workload with minimal supervision. Building a good rapport with existing clients and attracting new clients is essential for this role. You must also be able to deliver a commercial approach to client matters and possess a strong and sustained reputation.

This is a hybrid role, with some flexibility in relation to working hours and which provides the opportunity to undertake high quality work and business development. The successful candidate may, on occasions, assist the Head of Department and Senior fee earners in relation to guidance and coaching of lesser PQE fee earners within the commercial property team.

Applicants must be experienced enough to take on and manage a range of commercial property work including acquisitions and disposals, commercial leases, business lease renewals, site assembly and estate development and property work for educational institutions, pension schemes, investor clients, insolvency practitioners and charities.

Paralegal – Commercial Property

Full-time Role – Hours 9.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday

We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Property paralegal.

You will be joining a busy and successful team that undertakes all aspects of commercial property acquisition and disposal.

The role primarily involves providing paralegal-level assistance to the fee earners within the department. Additionally, the successful applicant must be prepared to undertake a range of tasks, in addition to their paralegal duties, including administration related work.

The ideal candidate will have previous working experience within a commercial property team or alternatively will have experience of development and plot sales work within the residential property work-type.

It is essential that applicants also have excellent client care and inter-personal skills, the ability to work efficiently and accurately together with good software skills including a sound knowledge of electronic legal forms.

Immigration Lawyer

We are looking for an Immigration Lawyer to specialise in individual and commercial immigration matters. You will provide expert advice to businesses on visa applications, sponsor licences and compliance, while also handling individual immigration matters like asylum, citizenship and deportation defence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive legal advice and representation in immigration law matters.
  • Apply for UK sponsor licences to enable businesses to recruit from overseas.
  • Advise businesses on hiring individuals from outside the UK, including salary and skill thresholds for Skilled Worker applications.
  • Advise on how to complete Right to Work checks before employment.
  • Apply to the EU Settlement Scheme and support clients in applying to remain in the UK indefinitely.
  • Manage sponsor management systems, ensuring they are up-to-date.
  • Apply for visa extensions within the UK.
  • Maintain sponsor licences and advise on compliance with Home Office duties.
  • Prepare and submit applications for visas, work permits, asylum, and other immigration-related issues.
  • Represent clients in immigration hearings, tribunals, and appeals.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in immigration laws and policies.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including petitions, appeals, and briefs.
  • Liaise with government agencies, embassies, and consulates as necessary.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing clear, actionable advice and regular updates.
  • Manage a diverse caseload efficiently, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality service.

Qualifications:

  • At least [5] years of experience in immigration law, with a focus on business immigration.
  • Strong knowledge of UK immigration law, particularly for businesses and corporate immigration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and work under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and handle sensitive matters with empathy and discretion

Residential Property Paralegal – Basildon Office

Full-time Role – Hours 9.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday

We have an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join our successful team based in Basildon.

Under supervision, you will be expected to carry out legal tasks including drafting legal documentation and correspondence, preparation of SDLT & Land Registry forms and liaising directly with clients.

The roles also include time recording and assisting the fee earners within the department in relation to administration tasks.

The successful candidates will be expected to have a good level of knowledge and experience working as a paralegal within this area of law.  We would also welcome applications from paralegals with previous residential property compliance experience.

It is essential that applicants also have excellent client care and inter-personal skills, the ability to work efficiently and accurately together with good software skills including a sound knowledge of electronic legal forms.

You will also provide typing support, in addition to legal support, to the department.
