Kay Hales

Kay Hales

Kay joined Palmers Solicitors in 2005 as a Paralegal in the Residential Conveyancing department in our South Woodham Ferrers office, before being promoted to Executive in October 2021.

She specialises in matters including transfers of equity, sales, purchases, and re-mortgages.

Away from the office, Kay enjoys sailing on the River Crouch, running and socialising with her family and friends.

Erin Cronin

Erin Cronin joined the Residential Conveyancing team at our Rayleigh office in January 2019 as an Associate Solicitor. Erin became a department Director in February 2022 and in February 2024, Erin become head of branch at the Rayleigh office.

She handles a wide range of residential conveyancing matters, including sales and purchases of houses and flats, transfer of equities, remortgages, Right to Buy, first registrations and lease extensions.

Erin qualified as a solicitor in September 2009 while working at a Basildon-based law firm.

Away from the office, Erin enjoys live music, reading non-fiction books, watching films, DIY and spending time with her friends and family.

Sarah Dowie

Sarah Dowie

Sarah Dowie joined Palmers Solicitors in September 2017 as a Solicitor in our Family law team, based at our Rayleigh office.  She was promoted to an Associate in February 2021 and further promoted in February 2024 to Senior Associate, assisting in the management of her team and the Rayleigh office.

She completed a Law with Accountancy Degree in 2004 and her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law London in 2006. Sarah qualified as a solicitor in August 2008, whilst working at another Essex based law firm.

Sarah is experienced in all areas of family law, including divorce and financial matters relating to the family home, additional properties, shares, pensions and spousal maintenance. Sarah is also adept at assisting high net worth clients’ and understanding their very specific needs.

Due to the length of Sarah’s experience, she advises on Pre and Post Nuptial Agreements as well as matters relating to cohabitation and separation, including disputes over the ownership of property.

Sarah’s expertise also extends to matters relating to Child Arrangement Orders, child abduction, Social Care and domestic violence.

She is an experienced Court advocate at all stages of the legal process, up to and including trial, and has represented many of her and her colleagues’ clients’ since 2008.

Sarah’s direct but friendly approach provides her clients’ with a path to achieve their goal and strategic advice on how best to navigate their matter, even in difficult circumstances.

Away from the office, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, going to the theatre and live comedy.

Geraldine Gander

Geraldine Gander

Geraldine Gander joined our residential property department at our Thurrock office in 2016.

Since 1998, she has worked in residential property conveyancing in the local area and also has seven years experience in Trusts and Probate.

In her spare time, Geraldine enjoys cooking, holidaying and socialising with friends.

Marissa McKenzie

Marissa McKenzie

Marissa joined Palmers in August 2016 as a solicitor in the Wills and Probate department. She trained with another Legal 500 firm before qualifying as a solicitor in February 2010 and was retained by that firm, following her qualification, specialising in Family Law.

Having changed specialisms to Wills and Probate matters, Marissa is experienced in dealing with matters including drafting Wills and Codicils, drafting and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney, registering Enduring Powers of Attorney, and dealing with the administration of estates. Marissa also specialises in Court of Protection proceedings.

Marissa is a full member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) having completed a STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates and she is registered as a Dementia Friend.

Outside the office, Marissa enjoys singing, travelling, attending comedy clubs and baking.

Luke Morgan

Luke Morgan

Luke is a Director at Palmers Solicitors and has responsibility for managing the Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution department, the Company Commercial department and the Employment department

Luke practices in commercial litigation and dispute resolution and is experienced in a wide variety of contentious disputes. Luke can provide legal advice and assistance in most contentious matters, with particular expertise in the following areas:

Luke is also a qualified Civil and Commercial Mediator, associate member of the Civil Mediation Council and Registered Member of the International Mediation Institute. Luke is able to offer mediation services pursuant to Palmers’ mediation offering.

Luke read law at the University of Kent in Canterbury and went on to complete the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London, where he was awarded a Distinction. Luke joined Palmers as a trainee solicitor in 2011, qualified as a solicitor in September 2013, became partner in August 2016 and a director in 2021.

Prior to joining Palmers Solicitors, Luke worked as an adjudicator at the Financial Ombudsman Service in London where he resolved insurance disputes and he continues to use this experience to take a practical approach to litigation.

Luke is also able to provide assistance under the Commercial Debt Recovery Scheme.
