South Essex-based law firm, Palmers Solicitors, has promoted Laura Carter to become an Associate Chartered Legal Executive in the Wills and Probate team at the firm’s South Woodham Ferrers offices.

Laura’s promotion is an important investment in the practice’s Wills and Probate team as demand for its services continues to soar.

Laura has been with Palmers Solicitors since 2014, having obtained a First Class law degree from Canterbury Christ Church University.

She qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive from CILEx Law School in February 2021.

Laura’s practice spans the full range of Wills, Trusts and Probate work, from drafting and amending Wills, to assisting with the administration of Probate, creating Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) and making applications to the Court of Protection.

When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Laura said: ““I enjoy being able to deal with such a wide range of matters and I take particular comfort from helping bereaved clients through the estate administration process. At a challenging time some can find this to be quite an ordeal and being able to lift some of this burden from their shoulders makes a big difference”

Laura’s promotion will see her increase her contribution to the development of Palmers’ Wills and Probate team in South Woodham Ferrers, led by Director, Tim Steele.

He added: “Investing in our Wills and Probate team with Laura’s promotion is a clear indication of our commitment to Wills and Probate matters here in South Woodham Ferrers.

“Laura has impressed since joining us nearly eight years ago and I know her work is valued by our clients.”

Laura’s promotion comes at a time of increasing awareness of having a Will. She said: “Wills can be surprisingly complicated, even when personal circumstances or financial arrangements appear to be straightforward. I would urge anyone who does not have a Will in place to get in touch with me today”
