Palmers Solicitors makes a difference this Christmas

Our team have been making a difference in the run-up to Christmas through a wide range of fundraising initiatives.

Partners and staff at Palmers Solicitors have held various activities, including a charity carol service, sponsoring the Rayleigh Christmas lights, a Christmas wear anything day, a poetry competition and a Christmas card competition.

We raised more than £800 for the Polly Parrot Appeal for the children’s wards at Basildon and Thurrock hospitals and for the Rayleigh Town Museum through a collection at its carol service on Thursday 12 December and its wear anything day on Friday 13 December.

The wear anything day gave staff at the firm’s four offices the opportunity to come to work dressed in anything Christmassy and not just a Christmas jumper.

At the carol service, the winners of our poetry competition at Rayleigh Primary School read their poems, while a collection was held for our chosen charities.

Meanwhile, we held our annual Christmas card competition for Children at Treetops School in Grays. The winners were:

  • Sophia Hardwick
  • Jimmy Scamp
  • Alfie Andrews
  • Teddy Oughton

Partner, Lee McClellan visited the school recently to present certificates to the winners.

Fellow Partner, Carey Jacobs, said: “We are proud to be part of our local communities and equally proud to be able to make a contribution.

“Once again this year through our Christmas activities we have been able to help our staff and local communities celebrate, whilst also raising funds for two important causes.

“I would also like to congratulate the children at Rayleigh Primary School and Treetops School for their efforts in taking part in our poetry and Christmas card competitions.”
