Move over the Von Trapp family – we have our own home grown, talented singing families on our doorstep here in Essex!
This year, we asked tuneful families to send in a socially distanced Christmas Carol video recording – and we were delighted to receive some extremely festive entries.
The winning family entry was sent in by the Taylors from Brentwood. Mum, Jo, Dad, Paul and children Tommy, aged 10 and Ollie, aged 8 put on a fantastic performance.
Wearing a full Rudolph costume, Paul led the rest of the family, dressed as Santa’s little helpers, in a rendition of Jingle Bells.
Their festive entry has netted them first prize in the family section – a festive tower of goodies and a bottle of wine. The family chose The Polly Parrot Appeal as their nominated charity and we have made a £25 donation to this worthy cause on their behalf.
The winners of the children’s section were the equally festive Sarogini sisters aged 9, 5 and 4, from Brinsworth. The youngsters also chose to perform Jingle Bells and their performance has resulted in them receiving an early Christmas present – with selection boxes for each of the youngsters.
The Sarogini family also chose the Polly Parrot Appeal as their nominated charity.

“We are also delighted that the competition has resulted in a £50 donation to The Polly Parrot Appeal which our firm is proud to support as it is such a deserving local cause.”
