Croydon Park’s Katharyn O’Brien has celebrated a staggering success in the Women’s Race to Woodhall Spa Final.

By day, Katharyn works as a compliance officer at Palmers Solicitors, providing information to all teams on compliance matters, but in the evening, Katharyn is an avid golf enthusiast.

Katharyn said: “I am so happy to have gotten the gold at the tournament. I have worked so hard to get here.

“During the regional qualifier, I thought my time in the competition was over when I suffered a vertigo attack. However, I knew I had to power through to get to the finals.”

Starting with a handicap of 46, she worked tirelessly to develop her game skills and, evidently, all of her hard work paid off.

Though coming up to the finals, Katharyn had worries about missing work in order to attend the event.

She said: “I want to thank Palmers for being so flexible with their working hours. Not only have I had time off for the tournament, but they have also given me flexible working arrangements so that I can train on Thursdays at Crondon Park.

“The support of the team behind me at Palmers has enabled me to not only continue with golf but pursue it to a new level.”

The team at Palmers couldn’t be happier for Katharyn’s success in the tournament.

BJ Chong, supervising director at Palmers Law, said: “We are incredibly proud to support our colleagues in pursuing their passions both inside and outside of work.

“Katharyn’s success is a brilliant example of what can be achieved through dedication, perseverance and ambition.

“Congratulations, Katharyn, on this well-deserved accomplishment. We hope you’re taking some time to relax and celebrate your amazing achievement!”
