Private Client Solicitor

We are looking for a motivated Private Client Solicitor to join Palmers’ Private Client team. We welcome applications from solicitors at different stages of their career who can demonstrate relevant Private Client experience and a genuine commitment to developing their practice in this area.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and experienced department, working with a broad range of clients on wills, probate, estate administration, powers of attorney and related Private Client matters.

The successful candidate will manage an appropriate caseload, with the level of responsibility and support tailored to their experience. They will provide clear and practical advice to clients and play an active role in delivering excellent client service. We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable and commercially aware, with strong technical foundations and a desire to continue developing their expertise within a busy Private Client practice.

Key responsibilities

• Managing an appropriate caseload of Private Client matters, with support and supervision where required.
• Advising clients on wills, estate planning, probate, estate administration and lasting powers of attorney.
• Drafting clear and accurate legal documents, correspondence and attendance notes.
• Building positive relationships with clients and providing a professional, empathetic and efficient service.
• Maintaining files and records in line with SRA, Lexcel and internal practice management requirements.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the department and wider firm.
• Supporting marketing and business development activity, including developing external relationships and identifying opportunities for new work.

About you

You will be a qualified solicitor with experience of advising on areas such as wills, probate, estate administration, trusts and/or lasting powers of attorney, together with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage your time and workload effectively.

For more experienced candidates, we would welcome the ability to manage matters with a greater degree of autonomy and contribute to the continued development of the team and its client base. For those earlier in their career, we are looking for a strong foundation in Private Client work, enthusiasm to develop technically and the ability to take on increasing responsibility as their experience grows.
