South Essex legal practice marks the festive season with support for the local community

South Essex legal practice, Palmers Solicitors, has been marking the festive season with a range of events to support the local community.

From a Christmas ‘Wear Anything Day’ to poetry and Christmas card competitions for a pair of local schools, the legal practice, which has offices in Basildon, Rayleigh, Thurrock and South Woodham Ferrers has dedicated December to helping local people.

The practice kicked off the festive season earlier in December with its annual ‘Wear Anything Day’, which sees staff come to work or working from home while wearing Christmas themed outfits. The day raised nearly £300 for the Polly Parrot Appeal, which supports the children’s wards and Basildon and Thurrock hospitals.

Meanwhile, Palmers once again held its Christmas card competition for children at Treetops School in Grays, awarding prizes to the top four entries. The winning designs were used in the practice’s annual Christmas e-card.

Palmers also ran its annual poetry competition again this year, extending it to more schools than ever before. This year, North Crescent Primary School, Wyburns Primary School and Rayleigh Primary School took part, with nearly 30 children from across the three schools being awarded prizes.

Helen Jago, a Director at Palmers Solicitors, said: “It is wonderful to have been able to make a difference to local community across South Essex once again this year.

“We are part of the local community, our Directors and staff live locally, and we are delighted to have been able to give something back.

“The entries to our competitions for schools were once again outstanding and we had a very difficult job deciding on the winners.”
