A pancake-themed fundraiser held by a leading South Essex law firm has raised hundreds of pounds for a local hospice charity.
The fundraiser, which included a pancake race, was held by Palmers Solicitors at its South Woodham Ferrers offices. The event saw £200 raised for the Farleigh Hospice in Chelmsford through donations from staff, clients and contacts who attended.
The winner of the pancake race was awarded a frying pan trophy while the wooden spoon was, instead of a literal wooden spoon, a ‘bitter lemon’ trophy.
Tim Steele, a Partner at Palmers, said: “We are delighted to have been able to raise a good sum for Farleigh Hospice.
“Farleigh Hospice carries out extraordinary work in our local community and it was wonderful to be able to help give something back.
“The event was well-attended and builds on our regular fundraising for a range of charities locally.”
