Award-winning Essex-based law firm Palmers has further strengthened the service it is able to offer to clients facing the prospect of criminal investigation or criminal proceedings.
In order to continue providing the best possible legal representation, Palmers will now be working exclusively with clients on a private basis, rather than handling cases funded through legal aid.
The firm, which won the Excellent Customer Service category at this year’s Thurrock Business Awards and the Business 2 Business (Large Firm) category at the 2013 Basildon Business Awards, will continue to offer support in all areas of criminal work, including road traffic offences, theft, fraud, assault, health and safety prosecutions, food safety and other regulatory offences, and corporate offences.
Partner Jeremy Sirrell, who heads Palmers’ criminal law department, said: “Every crime we deal with, ranging from motoring offences to allegations of fraud, has the potential to damage a career or reputation.
“In a world where the provision of advice and representation has become dominated by the difficulties brought about by the inadequacies of legal aid, we have chosen to work exclusively with clients, both individual and corporate, on a private basis, to ensure that we are able to continue to devote the time and attention required to best advise and represent those under investigation or charged with offences.
“In this way, we are able to deliver bespoke advice and personal attention from a senior solicitor to every client, with the aim of achieving the best outcome.”
