Palmers Solicitors furthers green pledge with “40 for 40” initiative

Following the recent celebrations of the Essex-based firm’s 40th anniversary, the team is set to plant 40 new trees at the Langdon Nature Discovery Park as part of its ongoing sustainability efforts.

The firm, which specialises in a range of business and private client sectors including construction and dispute resolution, was founded in 1983 – growing to employ over 100 people across five office locations.

Its long-established green initiatives have seen a number of impressive achievements, which include the use of local suppliers, conducting remote training and meetings, and introducing energy-efficient lighting and heating in its offices. The programme received a particular boost in 2022 with the launch of the firm’s Carbon Reduction Analysis and Plan,

The firm has also achieved a 50 per cent reduction in paper usage and a 65 per cent reduction in paper-based marketing collateral.

Now, the team is not only saving the trees, but planting more, coming together on 3 November 2023 to plant 40 saplings in recognition of 40 years of accounting excellence.

The event will take place at the Langdon Nature Discovery Park. Palmers Solicitors is a long-standing supporter of the park’s conservation charity, the Essex Wildlife Trust – including through an annual donation to the trust.

Supervising Director, Luke Morgan, said: “Sustainability is at the core of our work. Our team and our clients really value that, particularly because we use our energy-saving measures, like digital consultations, to deliver an innovative service.

“We are long-time supporters of the Essex Wildlife Trust. This is an incredible opportunity for our team to invest in the local community and environment, long-term, by offsetting carbon emissions and supporting woodland restoration.

“As we look forward to the next 40 years of Palmers – particularly the opening of our new commercial hub – the trees that our team plant now will serve as a reminder of our commitment to sustainable development in the local area.

“Well done and thank you to everyone taking part – our team never fails to rise to the challenge!”
