After 4 years of applying, Kimberley Portas, a Legal Secretary in our Criminal and Employment Law Departments, has finally secured a place into one of the most prestigious running events in the World, the 2012 London Marathon, which is taking place on Sunday 22nd April.
The London Marathon started in March 1981 and is a total distance of 26 miles and 385 yards!
Following two operations on her foot last year, the prospect of training for and taking part in this event looked to be an unrealistic goal for Kim, however she was given the all clear by doctors back in October and her training is now well underway.
In preparation, Kim plans to enter the St Luke’s Hospice 10 mile running event at Ford Dunton on Sunday 26th February, along with our Marketing Manager, Emily Smith, followed by a half marathon event in March.
Whilst Kim has secured a place through the ballot for the event, she is running the event in support of St Luke’s Hospice, which is a Charity not only very close to her heart, but also to Palmers and hopes to raise as much as she can.

Good luck Kim!
