A law firm is looking to improve awareness of cybercrime and how to prevent it amongst local businesses in South Essex.
Palmers Solicitors, which has offices in Basildon, Thurrock and South Woodham Ferrers, will be holding a pair of seminars in Thurrock on 15 September and Southend on 13 October in conjunction with Thurrock and Southend-on-Sea Borough Councils.
The panel at the seminars will include experts from Palmers’ own commercial team as well as specialists from City of London Police, Barclays and Cyber Strategies Limited. The events promise to deliver advice on practical, protective and preventative measures to reduce the risk of falling victim to cybercrime and to help you cope if the worst should happen.
Palmers Partner, Carey Jacobs, said: “I’m very pleased that we’re able to offer this opportunity to businesses in Thurrock and Southend. The National Crime Agency recently revealed that there were 2.46 million ‘cyber incidents’ last year, including 700,000 frauds. “There are a number of steps that businesses can take to protect themselves and their customers. Here at Palmers, we’re keen to make sure that as many businesses as possible are savvy about the risks of cybercrime and how to prevent it.”
The seminar in Thurrock on 15 September will take place from 8am to 10am, while the seminar in Southend on 13 October will take place from 4pm to 6pm. To book your place, please visit: https://palmerslaw.co.uk/cybercrime-prevention-seminar/.
