Jobs saved at cleaning firm

Almost 300 jobs have been saved at a group of cleaning and facilities management companies after it was sold out of administration.

Insolvency News reported on 9 September that administrators from KPMG had sold six companies in the Cheshire-based BDi group – providing services including cleaning, key holding and waste management – to Select Security (Northwest) Limited, which will continue to service customer contracts. As part of the sale, all 273 jobs have been preserved.

Paul Flint of KPMG, who was appointed as joint administrator on 2 September, said: “We are delighted to have been able to conclude a sale of the business and its assets immediately following our appointment, preserving almost 300 jobs and ensuring a continuity of service for customers.”

The outcome in this case is a positive one but when any business is facing financial difficulties, difficulties in obtaining money owed can create real difficulties for creditors.

Palmers can provide expert advice on commercial debt litigation to help decide on which procedure is most likely to result in the recovery of money owed.

We understand that in pursuing debts, creditors want to ensure the costs involved do not outweigh the eventual return and we offer a cost-efficient fixed fee appointment of up to one hour at a cost of £100 + VAT to examine the case and explore the options.
