Jade joined us in December 2023 just two weeks after qualifying as a solicitor, quickly getting stuck into her role working with local people and families on a range of private client services.
Introducing Jade!
After completing her undergraduate degree in Law – and obtaining a first-class honours – Jade discovered her passion for private client services and support for older clients as a paralegal at a London firm in the Court of Protection department.
She undertook her Legal Practice Course (LPC) on a part-time basis while in this role, before obtaining a training contract at a local firm where she qualified in December 2023.
“I’m definitely happy I chose this field,” said Jade. “I get to work across so many different areas and support clients with varied circumstances.”
Outside of work, Jade enjoys spending time with her family, friends and fiancé, as well as her very spoiled cat!
Jade at Palmers Solicitors
As she develops her own practice, Jade works across the department drafting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) and supporting families with obtaining grants of probate, and estate administration.
She also undertakes declaration of trust work and is beginning to step into the world of Court of Protection matters with Supervising Director, Jai Kalidas.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time at Palmers so far,” said Jade. “I do a lot of client-based work, which I love. I’ve particularly enjoyed having the opportunity to support more elderly clients.”
Why Wills and probate?
Jade took the step to working in Wills, trusts and probate because it gave her the opportunity to make a real difference in clients’ lives at a potentially very difficult time.
“Applying for probate is generally not something clients have done before and it can be quite overwhelming and stressful, so I love having the opportunity put someone’s mind at ease.
“On the Wills side, it’s great to help people have difficult conversations about things that they maybe don’t want to think about. In my position, I can guide them through the process and show them that it’s not necessarily as scary as they think it is.”
