The rollout of the UK’s Covid-19 vaccination programme has raised a number of important questions regarding employment law.
Many business owners are unsure whether they will be able to insist on their employees having the jab as a condition of employment.
The Government has not yet released any guidance on vaccination for employers. However, existing employment law gives some pointers on how to approach the issue.
To help business owners navigate the issues relating to vaccinations, Associate Solicitor, Samantha Randall, and Solicitor Ola McGhee have produced a free video which is available to view here.
Samantha and Ola will explain a number of key issues that employers will need to bear in mind when dealing with their workforce, including:
- Are there any circumstances in which an employer can require an employee to have the vaccine?
- Why might an employee object to vaccination and what issues might an employer face?
- The rights of anti-vaxxers
- Can an employee be dismissed for refusing vaccination?
- Can an employer require an employee to disclose whether or not they have been vaccinated?
- How will a vaccine impact an employer’s COVID-19 risk assessment?
